Hayley Palmer the Cheltenham born swimmer who is competing for New Zealand at the Beijing Olympics has
missed out on qualification for tomorrow's final.
New Zealand we disqualified in their heat of the women's 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay.
Palmer was born in Cheltenham and attended St Edward's School before emigrating with her family to the land of the long white cloud in 2007.
She swam the third leg of the semi-final and recovered slightly from the poor start given by her team mates, swimming to a time of one minute.59.92 to put the Kiwi's back in contention.
However a quick change between Palmer, Natasha Hind led to the Kiwis being disqualified.
Hind finished in seventh position, outside of the qualifying positions.
Palmer qualifies for New Zealand through her Kiwi father and is competing at the games for the first time.
