1.43pm - Moreton Show scaled down after bad weather
THE wet weather has forced tomorrow's Moreton Show to be scaled down.
Heavy rainfall has led to organisers reducing the size of what is normally the county's leading annual agricultural show.

Horses, cattle, sheep, goats and hounds will still be displayed and the grand arena programme will go ahead but there will only be a few trade stands and limited catering.
The dog show has been cancelled as have the home and garden section except children's classes, table-based handicrafts and cakes which will be held in the Redesdale Hall.
There will be no flowers or vegetables.
Show spokesman Tim Gardner said: "It is very disappointing but there is still the core of it there."
Admission and parking will be free of charge but show officials say wellies and waterproofs are recommended.

“We were intending to exhibit at the event and were turned away at the gate as we arrived with tractors and machinery. Admittedly ground conditions were bad, but we were prepared, having arranged to unload our lorry in a nearby layby, and checked the show's website before we left. I do sympathise with the show committee in what must have been a difficult decision, but a slightly earlier warning would have saved a lot of un-necessary heavy haulage and effort.
That said, it is very sad for all concerned. I do hope the show can bounce back next year.”

“We have just heard that the Hound Show part has also been cancelled, all very very sad.
I feel very sorry for all those who have worked so very hard for a year to see their plans washed away by this horrid weather.”
