11.03am - Should Top Gear's Richard Hammond become the new Doctor Who
AN internet campaign has been launched to make Top Gear favourite Richard Hammond the new Doctor Who.
Top Gear presenter Hammond, 38, who lived in Redmarley in Gloucestershire before moving to a stately pile in Herefordshire, is being urged by fans to step into the shoes of David Tennant if he leaves.

A campaign has been set up on social networking site Facebook called "Vote for Hammond as the next Doctor."
Bookmakers Ladbrokes say Hammond is in with a chance and rank him as a better bet than Alan Davies, Richard E Grant or John Barrowman.
The Star newspaper has quoted a source close to "The Hamster" as saying that he would like to return to acting.
Tennant is widely regarded as the best Doctor Who of all time and the BBC has reportedly offered him £1.3million to stay on as the timelord.
He will be filming four special editions of the series next year and has yet to officially quit as the Doctor.

I think David Tennant should stay as the Doctor because I think he's brilliant! He's much better than the 9th Doctor because he make the show more real and dramatic which is excellent. Because of him, the show has grown over the past few years. Hamster would test out how fast the Tardis can go!!! ;)
It sucks that we won't be seeing a full series till 2010! And for us Aussies it will be late in 2010!!!

Wait for Christmas Dr Who when the future Dr Who meets today Dr Who. It should be a great show, I'm looking forward to it.
We had a short Dr Who before, Richard Hammon make good Doctor. But will he love to play the part?
One thing about David he loves playing Dr Who he gave the show life of it's own, and his having ball, that comes across.
