15 parish councils say 'no' to incinerator
There are now 15 parish councils objecting to Gloucestershire's £500million incinerator plans for Haresfield.
The parish councils objecting are Quedgeley, Hardwicke, Haresfield, Moreton Valence, Standish, Churchdown, Painswick, Randwick, Whitminster, Uckington, Bishops Cleeve, Leckhampton, Upton St Leonards, Harescombe and Rodborough.
They have all voiced their concerns about Urbaser Balfour Beatty's plan to build an incinerator to help Gloucestershire County Council dispose of the county's waste for the next 25 years.

“Can any of these 'councils' tell the public what involvement they had in discussions to find a way to deal with the residual waste problem, or did they sit on the sidelines until it was too late to make any useful contribution?”

“Forgot to say - the same councils also don't like nuclear power, the Severn barrage, or wind turbines in their midst, or anaerobic digesters, and any other forms of industrial installations.”
