A 16-year-old boy from Dursley appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court this morning, accused of two counts of wounding with intent to cause GBH.
The court heard that the boy allegedly stabbed Karthigesu once in the abdomen, threw a stone at Suthakar and then stabbed him a total of seven times in the abdomen and arm.

Suthakar remains in hospital in a serious condition, while Karthigesu was released on Saturday.
Peter Ashby, prosecuting, told the court the attack took place after a separate dispute between the boy and Karthigesu earlier on Saturday.
Mr Ashby said: "This appears to be the motive for the attack."
He added: "This is an offence which seems to be premeditated. He had two weapons, a stone and a knife. He clearly went out with at least one of those items to cause serious harm."
A customer approaching the shop heard the boy threaten to kill Suthakar as he was running away from the shop after the attack, Mr Ashby said.
The boy wept as he was remanded in custody by District Judge Martin Brown. He will appear at the same court again on Thursday.
