Large amounts of illegal drugs have been seized in a raid in Gloucester.

An estimated £40,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin was found at an address in Stroud Road, Gloucester, during a drugs warrant on Monday.

Inside the property, officers found approximately half a kilogram of crack cocaine and heroin.

Detective Sergeant Alex Mercurio, who planned the operation, said: "This operation has led to the removal of a large amount of class A drugs from our streets."

A 29-year-old woman from Abbeymead and a 20-year-old man from Gloucester were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs.

They have been bailed to return to Gloucester Police Station on May 11.
