2,000 walkers hike the Five Valleys for Meningitis Trust
PICTURESQUE landscapes played host to the 25th Five Valleys Walk which attracted around 2,000 walkers to raise much-needed funds for the Meningitis Trust.
Walkers trekked across 21 miles of Stroud countryside, taking in sites such as Minchinhampton Common, Brimscombe, Slad, Pitchcombe, Standish Wood, Stonehouse, Dudbridge and Woodchester.
Event organiser Becky Jones said the charity is hopeful of raising £60,000 from the day.
She said: "It was a great day and everybody seemed to have enjoyed themselves.

"We estimate we had the same number taking part as we had last year, around 2,000.
"Last year we raised £54,000 so we're hope to raise more this year once all the sponsorship money comes in.
"We are really grateful to everyone who took part because we are completely reliant on donations and all the money raised will be put to good use to help those affected by meningitis."
