2.10pm - Lydbrook woman banned from keeping dogs
Lydbrook wolf-dog breeder Nadia Carlyle has been
banned from keeping dogs for 12 months after being found guilty
of four counts of cruelty to animals.
The 34-year-old, who describes herself as a 'K9 crusader' on
her website, denied nine charges of causing unnecessary
suffering to the 19 Utonagan dogs and puppies she kept in her
cottage.
In imposing the ban at Forest of Dean Magistrates' Court in
Coleford, Judge Simon Cooper said the defendant needed a clean
break from keeping dogs to reassess her position.
He gave a her a conditional discharge for three years and
ordered her to pay £300 in compensation to David
Pearse who took care of some of the dogs.
Carlyle is planning to launch an appeal against her
conviction following the four day trial.

“I have to agree with Missy on this one... There are serious discrepancies cross-jurisdictionally regarding animal law and how these laws should be enforced. These discrepancies have led to unequal and often unfair application of the law by countless state agencies across the nation. The individuals who suffer have little recourse legally & often once they are granted an appeal it comes to late for their animal, who are often put down within the standard 7-10 day shelter hold policy or die due to improper care from staff & volunteers that are underfunded & often inadequately trained. This is especially common w/ exotic animals & rare breeds who req. special training & care, often this education & detail to care is achieved by the owner. Animals are confiscated due to gov. legislation created by individuals w/o any special knowledge or education, creating agencies w/ similar issues .
As for the "mongrel comment" - other articles on the subject site the dogs as Utonagan's.”

“I should point out they are Pedigree dogs they are Cross breed mongrels.
Not that makes a difference to the standard of care that is needed to look after such animals..”

“It's amusing to see that Missy's co supporter of this ill-treater of animals is as illiterate as she is. If you're going to call everyone idiots then maybe, just maybe, it's an idea to spell simple words like 'appeal' and 'ignore' correctly. Now off you toddle to keep your animals in squalor like your chum.”
