3,000 people use NewBuy scheme
Home-buyer reservations made through the NewBuy scheme are at the highest level since the initiative started, new figures show.
More than a hundred people reserved a new home each week during the first three weeks of 2013, the Homes Builders Federation (HBF) has revealed.
A total of 3,000 people have now reserved a new home using the scheme.
At launch, the scheme had seven builders and three lenders on board. There are now more than 60 builders offering the scheme and six lenders. Since the scheme began, interest rates on NewBuy mortgages have dropped, increasing the availability and appeal of the scheme to home-buyers.
