33 homes for Leckhampton approved to allow £6.3m new premises for Kier Construction in Up Hatherley
Kier Construction will be able to stay in Cheltenham after plans for a purpose-built facility were approved by Cheltenham planners.
The £6.3 million development in Up Hatherley will be funded by the construction of 33 homes on its current site in Leckhampton Road – an application which was approved by Cheltenham Borough Council's planning committee at the same time.
When lodging the application in October on behalf of Kier, which has been based in its current premises for 60 years, Simon Firkins of SF Planning, said approval of both schemes would keep 166 jobs for local people.
He said: "The residential proposals for Leckhampton Road are being seen as the mechanism to help achieve the new purpose-built headquarters at Cheltenham Office Park and maintain the profile of Kier within the town."
