5 reasons to refuse incinerator
GlosAIN says:
1Old, inflexible technology: The 25-year contract prevents new technological advances. Incinerators are being closed abroad. Flexible, cheaper, environmentally-friendly alternatives have not been seriously considered.
2 Overcapacity: DEFRA withdrew the county's PFI funding and says no more incinerators are required. GCC's waste predictions were incorrect. Waste is continuing to fall.
3 Resource Deprivation: Recyclable, scarce and irreplaceable resources will be destroyed 24 hours a day.

4 Hazardous for planet and people: The waste technology with the highest CO2 emissions, accelerating climate change. Incineration turns inert materials into hazardous pollutants which will be dispersed in the air. Some hazardous ash will be landfilled. No research to prove it is safe.
5 Location inappropriate for building size: The Secretary of State imposed a 15.7m height restriction on the site.
The incinerator would ruin the view from the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
