80m fall man okay
THE driver of a 4x4 which tumbled 80 metres down a steep drop escaped virtually unscathed.
After the 68-year-old man's Suzuki Jimny veered off the road on Frocester Hill on Thursday morning, firefighters cut him free and he was whisked to hospital by air ambulance.
Yesterday Frenchay Hospital in Bristol and police confirmed he was discharged after being checked over. Initially his condition was described as stable and not life threatening.
Skid marks on the road and verge indicate the car was heading downhill towards Frocester and hit the kerb just before the first sharp left-hand bend.
