A FLOOD warning has been issued for Gloucestershire with heavy rain expected over the next two days.

The Met Office is forecasting up to 80mm of rain for parts of the south west, south east, Midlands and north east over the next 48 hours.

David Jordan, director of operations at the Environment Agency said: "We are expecting flooding across the country from today into tomorrow. We strongly urge people to sign up to flood warnings, keep a close eye on local weather forecasts and be prepared for the possibility of flooding. We also ask that people stay safe, by staying away swollen rivers and not attempting to drive through floodwater."

People can check the Environment Agency website www.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood for the latest information.
