The 'Museum Detectives Club' begins at the City and Folk Museums this summer and will encourage young people to learn more about the City.

Councillor Paul James, leader of Gloucester City Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration said: "This is a chance for young people to show their creativity and have the chance for their design work to be seen across the County.

"I hope the local schools and children get behind the competition and get sending in their entries."

The two overall winners in each category will win a Museum's goodie bag and the 'Young Designers 2013' trophy.  And the winning entrants from each school will have their designs at the City Museum later this year.

All schools interested in taking part should email museums@gloucester.gov.uk to register their interest before Friday 1st February 2013. The closing date for entries is Friday 22nd February 2013.

Each school will be responsible for choosing their own winner in each of the two categories above.  Those winners will then be entered into the final stage. The competition panel will choose the overall winner in each category.

The panel includes a local artist, Headteacher, City Councillor and the City Museum Curator.
