A40 London Road, Cheltenham closed in both directions after head on collision
A HEAD on collision on the A40 London Road at Dowdeswell Reservoir left two people trapped and the road closed this morning.
The collision at around 8.20am today involved a Volkswagen Sharan and a Mini Cooper.
Emergency services and the police were called to the crash by the Koloshi restaurant and Reservoir Lodge on London Road.
Two fire engines from Cheltenham East fire station and one fire engine from Cheltenham West fire station were sent to the scene, together with ambulances and the police.

Station commander Pike was in charge.
The driver of the Mini, who is from Cheltenham, was airlifted to Frenchay hospital in Bristol with life-changing injuries.
Two boys and the driver of the Volkswagen were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital as a precaution.
The road was shut in both directions, at the Whittington turning from Andoversford and out of Charlton Kings, at the junction of the A436 from 8.30am to about 1.45pm.
