Heavy delays around A417 Crickley Hill after two lorry breakdowns and accident
LONG delays have been caused this afternoon (Weds) by broken down lorries on Crickley Hill.
Earlier this afternoon around 4pm, the A417 going up Crickley Hill became partially blocked due to broken down lorry near the A436 at the Air Balloon Roundabout. That has now been cleared.
Another lorry broke down at the roundabout a short time later. An accident has been reported coming down the hill between the A436 and A46 junctions by the Highways Agency. This has also been cleared.
Routes around the area, including along the A46 and Brockworth bypass from the M5 junction, remain very busy (6.50pm) with delays of at least 10 minutes. Road works on Birdlip Hil from the Twelve Bells at Witcombe have been temporarily lifted to ease traffic congestion.
