FUNDS raised in memory of a Cheltenham schoolgirl have reached the target of £10,000.

Dozens of people have gone online to donate to the appeal in memory of Abi Owen, who died last month after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

Family and friends have been joined by people who didn't know the 12-year-old in donating to the appeal.

Abi's family have said they are "overwhelmed" by the support.

Heartbroken parents Kelly and Mark Owen said the money would be used to help to save other little girls in Abi's situation by funding upgrades at Bristol Children's Hospital.

A second appeal has been started after Kelly Owen decided to run the Bristol 10k in May.
