FUNDS raised in memory of a Cheltenham schoolgirl are approaching £10,000.

Dozens of people have gone online to donate to the appeal in memory of Abi Owen, who died last month after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

Her heartbroken parents Kelly and Mark Owen said the money would be used to help to save other little girls in Abi's situation by funding upgrades at Bristol Children's Hospital.

Family and friends have been joined by people who didn't know the 12-year-old in donating to the appeal. They had amassed more than £9,500 when the Echo went to print last night.
