Accused of heroin dealing
WHEN police officers searched Mohammed Moosajee in a Gloucester street they allegedly discovered £4,300 of heroin, a court heard.
The 27-year-old, of Stratton Road, entered no pleas to possessing the Class A drug with intent to supply and to a second charge of possessing cannabis, when he appeared before city magistrates yesterday.
Prosecuting solicitor Sharon Green said the case should be heard at crown court.
She said: "The allegation is that the defendant was stopped and searched in Trier Way, Gloucester at 5.40pm on January 18.
"Police allegedly found a number of clingfilm wraps - some 46 in total - containing three ounces of heroin with a street value of £4,300.
"They also seized a mobile phone, cannabis and a quantity of money, the Crown say."
Defending solicitor Steve Young said: "The defence have no representations to make at this stage."
Magistrates adjourned the case until April 20 at Cheltenham for committal papers to be prepared for trial at Gloucester Crown Court.
Moosajee was granted conditional bail.
