Ace veterans serve up five promotions
VETERAN tennis players in Gloucestershire enjoyed another successful season with five teams gaining promotion in the inter-county championships.
Four women's teams were promoted, a reverse of 2010 when five of the men's teams went up a division.
Success for the women came in the Over-35s, Over-50s, Over-60s, and the newly-formed Over-70s.
The one success for the men came in the Over-45s.
County veterans' organiser Jim Cressey praised the teams for another successful year and appealed for any veteran players in the county to contact him if they would like to make themselves available for county teams.
