WITH the emergence of talented young artists such as Jamie Cullum and Paloma Faith, the jazz genre is in good hands.

And that's partly due to the influence of Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band.

In the past 15 years, Acker has been recognised for his achievements in music.

Last May he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at The Parliamentary Jazz Awards and he has also been awarded a MBE for his services to the music industry.
