Apprentice Becky takes off in new airport role
THE sky's the limit for Becky Kiff after the 19-year old from Dursley completed a business administration apprenticeship with Gloucestershire College and has just gained a full-time post as landside operations assistant at Gloucestershire Airport.
A former pupil at Dursley's Rednock School, Becky joined the airport in 2011 with a range of duties from reception and check-in to flight planning and passenger security.
Airport head of operations, Darren Lewington said: "We're delighted to have been able to offer Becky a full-time position. She's the fourth apprentice to join the team here at Staverton – almost 10% of our workforce – and underlines the fact that there are some fantastic youngsters out there, who can bring a great deal to our business.
"We'll be attending the Gloucestershire Skillsfest event at Gloucester Rugby Club on March 5 where we hope to be able to announce more apprenticeship opportunities at the airport."

Becky said: – "I'm really pleased that the apprenticeship has led to a full-time job straight away. It's a really varied role and I've really enjoyed my training. During my first few months I'd been on board the Queen's royal jet when it arrived on a training flight and met Lord Sugar, who is a regular visitor."
