Arsonist hunted by police in Cheltenham

An arsonist is being hunted in connection with two garage fires in Cheltenham.

Police are investigating two fires which took place at garages in Charlton Kings between midnight and 4am on Sunday morning.

The first took place at a home in London Road and the second one at a premises in Ashley Road.

"We believe the incidents are linked," said a police spokesman.

No one was injured in either incident but extensive damage was caused to the buildings. A car was also damaged in the fire on the London Road.

Police have reminded the public to ensure outbuildings are kept locked and are appealing for anyone with any information about either of these fires to contact them on 101 and quoting incident number 106 of November 18.
