Art provides 'essential expression' for the soul
AN exhibition of the latest paintings by Katie McCue opens on Saturday at Stroud's Kendrick Street Gallery.
There's a chance to talk to Katie about her work at a meet the artist event on Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
Katie McCue studied for a degree in art and film in Canterbury before moving to Stroud 20 years ago and exhibiting her art regularly.
She works at South Gloucester and Stroud College and makes music with husband Danny in their band Souled and Healed.

However, finding time to paint and make pictures is, as Katie says, "absolutely necessary….. If I don't find time for creative expression through my art something essential is missing."
Her Collection of new painting and mixed media pieces are all about butterflies and flowers, exploring themes of transformation, fragility and change.
The exhibition continues until August 24.
