A Mini Adventure at Charterhouse Auction
A quartet of classic Mini motor cars feature in the Charterhouse auction of classic cars on Sunday 12th February.
"The Mini has been an icon of motoring design for over 50 years, and we have been instructed to sell four very different Minis in the February auction." Commented Matthew Whitney. "The great thing about being a classic car valuer is the wide variety of motors we come across, but whilst we have a Ford Mustang Mach 1 with a 7800cc V8 engine producing about 550bhp also in the auction, the Minis will probably be more viewed and always seem to put a smile on your face!"
The quartet entered into the auction comprise a 1967 Mini Cooper Mk I with a 998cc engine, was first registered in Somerset where it has spent most of its life and is estimated at £8,500-9,500. Next up is another Mini Cooper, this time a 1997 model with a 1300cc fuel injected engine, estimated at £3,500-4,000 which is then followed by a 1982 Mini City which will make a great starter classic or an ideal first car for someone at £600-800. However, last up is a really special Mini, being a 1985 Downton Tuned Mini. This comes with a 1293cc engine having a Kent cam, MG Metro polished cylinder head, quick shift gearbox and many other enhancing goodies which is estimated at £3,000-4,000.
