AGED just five weeks upwards, these tots are as happy as turtles in the extra warm waters of St Rose's pool in Stroud.

The babies' weekly dips in the 35 degrees of the special school's hydrotherapy waters are thanks to teacher Suzy Billing's classes.

Normally leisure centre pools are heated to around 29 degrees so the extra heat was going just swimmingly, Mrs Billing said.

"To have such a wonderfully warm pool is just amazing. It is sort of bath-like," she said.

An accomplished swimmer herself, and also scuba diver, Mrs Billing launched her Turtle Tots classes at Stroud and three other Gloucestershire venues after her youngest son started school.

Turtle Tots licensees teach what they say is a unique swimming method, which begins during pregnancy and continues after baby is born.
