MEET devoted mum Veronica Godfrey – the woman with the biggest brood in town.

The maternal accountant has produced four sons for herself .... and hundreds of daughters for women across the world.

For grandmother Veronica literally has a booming baby factory at her Cinderford home.

She is one of a growing army of reborners – women who spend their leisure time painstakingly transforming vinyl play dolls into realistic looking human babies.

Veronica and her friend Monica Boundes have given birth to hundreds of living dolls which they sell on the internet.

They spend hours getting the flesh tones exactly right and can spend months rooting each individual hair on their baby's head.

After four sons, now in their 40s, 68-year-old Veronica loves shopping for pink clothes and accessories for her finished, fake daughters.

Women who buy from her on-line Primrose Nursery, usually care for the dolls in the same way they would a real child.

They are so realistic that Veronica and Monica have had to convince police and passers-by they have not left babies unattended in their cars.

"I know some people think it's a bit weird but I enjoy doing it and I've made a lot of friends over the years," said Veronica.

"My husband thinks I'm nuts but I've always loved dolls and babies. When I was in school I always wanted to be an artist. I can't paint a picture, but I can do this.

"It's a hobby and no different to men playing with their Hornby train sets or paying thousands of pounds for Matchbox cars."
