BANDS will stage a musical battle in Cheltenham in a bid to win tickets to a summer festival.

A Young Enterprise group called Symphony is organising the event tomorrow at the All Saints' Academy in Blaisdon Way.

The doors will open at 6.30pm and the bands will start playing at 7pm. A selection of local young bands will be in the line up, including All Saints' Academy student band Semonar.

Members of the Young Enterprise team will be doing all of the stage management on the night.

Jake Higgins, managing director of Symphony, said: "I am really looking forward to Thursday.

"We have a new lighting rig being delivered today so we plan to make the show a visual spectacle as well as having some amazing music."

The winning band will receive tickets to the 2000 Trees Festival, a music event due to take place at Upcote Farm in July.
