INCREASED complaints about the state of Cheltenham's grass verges have led to borough council bosses vowing to do better.

The authority's cabinet has resolved to look into the issue following a wet summer which caused problems with grass cutting.

Concerns were also raised about cars illegally parking on verges, which caused damage to the grassed areas.

Ideas to remedy the problems include regular meetings between the council, Gloucestershire Highways and Ubico, the company which carries out the cutting, to ensure work is on track.
