Bikers urged to answer call to ride out for cancer charity
A FINAL call has gone out to motorbike enthusiasts to join a charity bike ride around the county later this month.
Bikers will meet at the Wall's Club in Hammond Way on Sunday, August 18 to ride out for Cancer Research UK.
Organisers of the Ride4Life motorbike trip is calling on enthusiasts to join together for a rider briefing at 10am before departing on a 90-mile adventure.
In November 2008, Jason Handy lost his father to cancer.
A year later, Jason wanted to help Cancer Research charities through mixing fundraising with his love of motorcycles.
The event has grown, and in 2011, 41 bikers took to the roads raising £1,400.
This year Jason would like to see if he can get more than 100 motorcycles to take part in Ride 4 Life 2013. If you are fanatical about motorcycles, and like the idea of riding the 77-mile route on August 18, sign up or donate at www.ride-4-life.net.
All those taking part need a full tank of petrol and an entrance fee of £5.
There will be a raffle and an auction of MotoGP, World and British Superbike prints to help boost the charity pot.
