Tomorrow looks pretty much the same, but with a foggy start for early birds.
The rest of the day will be cloudy.
Weatherman Ian Fergusson warned his Twitter followers this morning that 12 hours of snow could sweep across the region on Friday.
@fergieweather tweeted today: "Confidence now increasing re disruptive snow Friday. Potential for 12hrs snow across @bbcpointswest region frm Fri AM to Fri night."
The latest update followed his tweets yesterday which warned over a "worse-case scenario" for the region of more than six hours of moderate to heavy snow with "significant windchill" and "atrocious conditions".
Then it looks set to feel even colder at the weekend. On Saturday it will feel like -5C during the height of the day.
