All Blacks scrum-half Jimmy Cowan set to miss the rest of Gloucester Rugby's season with knee injury
LUCKLESS Jimmy Cowan will miss the rest of the season with knee ligament damage.
The All Black scrum-half is desperate to fight back to fitness before the end of the current campaign.

Jimmy Cowan carried off the field at Northampton
But Gloucester boss Nigel Davies expects his high-profile half-back to be out of action for six months.
World Cup winner Cowan turned his knee as studs caught in the heavy Franklin’s Gardens pitch during Gloucester’s 27-11 victory at Northampton on Saturday.

The ex-Southland and Otago Higlanders scrum-half landed awkwardly after tracking back onto a loose ball – and ended up leaving Northampton on crutches.
Gloucester rugby director Davies said Cowan remains in high spirits and is intent on finding fitness before this season is out.
While Gloucester’s medics will try everything in their power to make that happen, Davies conceded the chances are slim.
After 15 appearances since he arrived in January, the 30-year-old’s first Kingsholm season is at an end, and Davies admits it is shocking fortune.
The Gloucester boss explained: “It’s ligament damage and we’re probably looking at five to six months.
“He’s very positive in fairness to him, he’s a real competitor.
“He just wants to play and he’s going to do everything he can to get back as quick as he can.
“We’re anticipating him not being available again this season.
“We’re planning for the worst but hoping for better than that and he’ll be battling to be back before the end of the season.
“It’s horrible luck for Jimmy, and we all hope he can make a swift recovery.”

“Rupert Harden is the best tight head prop at Gloucester and the troll RUatroll (he is!) doesn't like that. Rupert Harden will be starting this weekend for Gloucester Rugby, a team that the troll RUatroll (he is!) doesn't support.”

“Rupert remains the number one and best tight head at Gloucester. I'm afraid to say that there is no one competing for HIS tight head position.”

“Wasps will undoubtedly be a tough game. That mean we need our toughest and best players to go up against them. Without a shadow of a doubt, when it comes to the tight head spot, Rupert Harden fits the bill.”

“If we don't want our front row stood up again, we want our best front row players playing against Wasps. That means we need Rupert Harden to start.”

“Rupert Harden... Most starts at tight head.... Most starts of any front row player. That proves he is the top rated tight head at Gloucester.”

“Laugh at the Gloucester Rugby and Rupert Harden hating multi identity troll trying to convince everyone that he has been to Kingsholm. Since he is just a troll that hates Gloucester Rugby, it can be certain that he is clueless about rugby union and that he has never been with a thousand miles of Kingsholm.”

“RUPERT HARDEN... Nigel Davies' selection as his first choice tight head. Not second or third but FIRST CHOICE.”

“Harden.... 10 out of 14 starts in the Premiership. That is a fact attributable to him alone and to our knowledgeable DoR - Nigel Davies - who selects him to start.”
