Blaze destroys ground floor in Fiddlers Green home
THE ground floor of a property in Fiddlers Green, Cheltenham, was destroyed by a blaze spotted by a passer-by this morning.
Fire crews were called to Fiddlers Green Lane shortly before 2am after receiving a call from a concerned member of the public.
Two engines from Cheltenham arrived and found the two-storey property on fire. Help was then requested from the Gloucester North station.
Firefighters tackled the blaze which had almost completely taken hold of the ground floor.

Watch Commander Haggar said: "Crews worked swiftly to bring the fire under control and limit the damage to the property as much as possible, the ground floor however has been almost completely gutted by the fire which had quickly spread."
A total of 80 per cent of the ground floor has been destroyed by the blaze and crews remained several hours at the scene.
