Blazers h-app-y with latest innovation
A GLOUCESTER basketball club has embraced the modern internet age by launching its own app for use on smartphones.
Joining the likes of Angry Birds, Scrabble and Youtube, Gloucester Blazers' app can be downloaded by players, coaches and parents.
They can keep up to date with training and match dates, see latest competition photos, videos and game reports and interact with other players on the fan wall.
The app allows the Blazers management team to easily and effectively keep in touch with all their players by 'pushing out' messages through the app direct to players' smartphones. There's no need to send texts, emails or log into social media sites. They have found it a quick and easy way to deliver a message to the place the players look at most – their smartphones.

Gloucester Blazer's Basketball Club manager Peter Bird said he was delighted with the club's development on the court and online.
He said: "We are really excited to launch the app.
"It shows our team players, our sponsors, potential new members and even our opponents that we are serious about everything we do from the way we look, train and compete to how we deliver our message."
The app was produced by Gloucestershire-based HighFlyingApps.com which specialises in app development for organisations of all sizes. The Blazers' app is now available, for free, from Google Play for Android phones and from Apple's App Store for iPhones.
