Body found at bottom of Forest of Dean cliff

A MAN'S body has been found at the bottom of a cliff in the Forest of Dean.

Police and rescue services launched a massive search operation on Thursday after an abandoned car was found at Symonds Yat Rock.

About 20 officers, a helicopter and firefighters were involved.

They found a body at about 3pm on Thursday.

A police spokesman said it is believed to be that of the car owner, a 48-year-old man from Monmouth.

The coroner and his next of kin have been informed.
