Bond memories on anniversary
AS James Bond celebrates his 50th anniversary and on the eve of new film Skyfall, the Cotswolds continues to lay claim to playing a major role in the secret agent's enduring success.
People in Upper Rissington fondly recall how former 007 Pierce Brosnan had fans clamouring for a glimpse when he shot scenes for Die Another Day at Rissington Business Park in 2002. Part of the former RAF base's airfield was transformed into a frozen lake fringed with giant fake icebergs, which could be seen for miles.
The superstar skidded across the ice in his AstonMartin, hotly pursued by villains, as onlookers surrounded the barbed wire site. Mr Brosnan was filming with former business Blue Egg Studios. It was the 20th Bond movie.
