Let me tell you about Petr Horacek, a friend of the TLF, who does lovely pictures and stories. His session though was for 2-6 year olds – why do they include big kids!

Praps I should say first that whilst I'm very grown-up, I'm not yet into writing.

So I've told granddad what to say. Do be patient with him. He is very old!

Anyway, we were in this lovely round tent, all mirrors and coloured glass. Granddad said it was art new-veau, but it looked pretty old to me.

There were lots of good things inside. I got a hug from Walker Bear who is

gi-normous and a TLF sympathiser.

After a Continental breakfast, Granddad hid behind his free newspaper with his coffee until it started Then, Petr drew pictures of his characters and told tales.

There was a goose who wanted to be very special, until he disturbed an angry sleeping lion and decided that being an average goose was just fine.

And a puffin lost his friend in a storm, and looked for him amongst other creatures, aided by a friendly whale. We were all given a special drawing sheet, and Petr came round helping.

I really loved it and I'm pleased to say there weren't many big kids there.

Petr drew a picture in a book I was bought. and everything was very good.

I'm glad that the Literary Festival is pretty much intent upon serving the TLF cause.

As told to Derek Briggs
