HUNGRY punters had no beef with chomping on horse as they watched the races yesterday.

Bookmakers Paddy Power set up a stall in Evesham Road to hand out free horse burgers.

They started handing out the horsemeat burgers around 11am, and a spokesman said they had sold hundreds.

She added: "'The recent horsemeat scandal provided us with the perfect opportunity to create some mischief around the Cheltenham Festival.

Gee, thanks Paddy Power - This line just absolutely sums up just how little these animals mean to this vile industry.”

“First the Echo are trying to make out that people are flocking to their local butchers because they don't want to buy meat products that may contain horsemeat now they are telling us that "hundreds" of people knowingly scoffed horsemeat burgers. That's not very consistent.”

“Another TiG special, what a joke...

"Former Cheltenham Racecourse chairman Lord Vestey has been accused of supplying beef laced with horsemeat to one of the UK's biggest catering firms.

Caterer Vestey Foods, which is run by Lord Vestey, has been revealed as the company that shipped minced meat containing more than one per cent horsemeat to Sodexo."

Disgusting really, Vesty and his lot should be forced to eat the remainder of the withdrawn stock - but they would not touch that stuff with a 'barge pole' - absolute scum.”

“did they have a license to do it ? Is this why residents can't park locally, so that people can sell burgers on the streets ? No doubt paying the council for the privilege, how about the council pass on some of the money in reduced parking permit costs for those effected?”

“Um, are there editors at TiG? I thought it was a bit less organised than Wikipedia, you know like the Hitch-hiker's Guide editorial office where the editor went to lunch one day and never came back so any passer-by was free to drop in . . . . .”

“How can they have 'sold hundreds' if they were giving them away? What time does the Tig editor get into work?”
