Children from King's Junior School met Jacqueline Wilson, renowned for her Tracy Beaker series, at the Cheltenham Literature Festival.
With King's Junior School sponsoring the event at Cheltenham Town Hall, a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils got the chance to meet their literary idol and have their books signed before Jacqueline gave a talk on her latest book Emerald Star.

He said: "It was fantastic for our pupils to meet such a role model. Jacqueline was genuinely delighted to sign copies of her books and found time to talk to each pupil with visible curiosity about their likes and dislikes, I was immensely proud."
Pupils who met Jacqueline are part of the Buddy Reading Club at King's where they read with younger pupils.

“It's good that the children get to meet some interesting children's authors at the Literacy Festival in Cheltenham .My sons school ,Field Court Infants (Quedgeley )took them to see Emma Chichester Clark who wrote I love you blue Kangeroo (amongst many others). They listened to her story and were given a blue kangeroo badge to take home.Makes a nice gentle change from computer games & tv.”
