Boom time for Cleeve businesses
PUBS and cafes in Bishop's Cleeve enjoyed a boost in business last week while other traders endured an icy reception.
The snow caused chaos on many roads and left villagers stranded in their homes – shopkeepers say Cleeve came to a standstill on Wednesday.

Lindy Shurmer, joint owner of gift shop, The Cat's Whiskers, said the weather had stopped people from outside the village venturing in to browse the shops.
"I would say we have benefited because residents have not wanted to go into town, but it has still be quite treacherous under foot," she said.
Hairdresser Dawn Leech, who runs Wavelengths in The Green, said she suffered a huge loss in trade as most of her customers are elderly.
She said: "You cannot blame them for not coming out because there is a risk of slipping but it kills our trade."
However, Anna Field, who runs Cafe Number 9 with Gavin Catlow-Hawkins, said it had been "mega busy" since the snow fell.
"All the schools have been shut so we have had teachers in and lots of grandparents with children, it was our best week ever," she said.
"The girls here have been fantastic and I have to thank our dedicated team."
Landlord of the Kings Head pub, Mark Hodges, said he also enjoyed a much-needed boost.
He said: "Business has been very good because everybody is looking for somewhere to go while they are off work."
