Oliver Bozanic says Cheltenham Town should be aiming for an immediate return to Coca-Cola League One this season.

The 20-year-old Australian trained with the Robins for the first time yesterday after arriving on loan from Reading.

He will be involved in tonight's home friendly against Bristol Rovers at the Abbey Business Stadium (7.45pm).

Bozanic joined Reading from Central Coast Mariners in January 2007 and spent three months on loan at Blue Square Premier club Woking last season.

He is now looking forward to his first taste of Football League action with manager Martin Allen's team.

"I definitely jumped at the chance to get some League Two football," Bozanic said.

"They have come down from League One and obviously they are looking for promotion, I hope, straightaway.

"I am going to come in try to do my part to make that happen."

Bozanic can operate in the centre of midfield, or on the left flank, where Allen hopes he will add balance to a team overloaded with right-footers.

"When I was on loan at Woking I was playing in central midfield as an attacking player and I want to score goals and set them up," Bozanic said.

"It's a great opportunity for me, so I hope I can take it.

"I want to come in and start and I don't want to be sitting on the bench."

Bozanic has already taken some good natured stick from his new team-mates about England's win over Australia in the second Ashes Test at Lord's yesterday.

The Sydney-born player was part of the Australia Under-20 squad that has qualified for the forthcoming World Cup, which means he is likely to be in Egypt when the tournament kicks off on September 24.

Allen said: "We are aware Oliver may be away for up to a month, but that's been taken into account and we won't have to pay for him while he is away, so it's a good deal for us.

"He has a nice left foot and he is a good footballer."

Bozanic follows in the footsteps of Nicholas Bignall and Michail Antonio, who both appeared on loan at Cheltenham from Reading last term.

"I know they came here and enjoyed it, so it made the decision easier," Bozanic added.

“i think that people who come on here and say the robins will be relegated are probably gloucester city fans living in hope we have had a good pre season so far and our squad is looking stronger by the day id like to see the board try and get some more income in though like using whaddon road car park for a car boot sale where theyd make loads of money they could even charge concessions for burger vans and ice cream vans”

“With such a small squad and financial problems I can't see CTFC lasting long in League two, however it will not be a return to League one but to the Conference where they can look forward to derby games against FGR & GCFC.”

“many people have come on here and said that low looked good at right back and one person said he was rubbish i think we know who is in the minority and doesnt have the vision of martin allen to make do with a small squad”

“I can't believe how many on here seem to think Low is a RB. He was poor - too slow and caught in possession too often. Lacking in bite and aggression. Give him some leeway for being out of position, but he ws far from being class on Saturday's performance.”
