Bressington returns to lead first club in celebration campaign
PAINSWICK RFC have appointed Alistair Bressington as their player/coach for the coming 2012-13 season.
The 32-year-old, who has been playing at National One side Stourbridge for the past seven seasons, with a short spell at Cinderford in between, takes over as Painswick compete in the Gloucestershire Premier Division in their 140th Anniversary year.
Bressington, who is the record points scorer at Stourton Park, has always expressed a desire to coach, and with work commitments preventing him from continuing to play at National League level, he has returned to Painswick where he started his career as a youngster.
Club Chairman Pete Haines said: "We welcome Alistair back to the fold, and consider ourselves fortunate to have secured his services.

"I'm sure that his vast knowledge of the game and his teaching experience will be of great value to the club as we face the challenges of life at this higher level."
Painswick were Gloucester Division One champions last season and will be relishing the prospect of challenging different sides, especially local rivals Stroud, when the new league season commences in September.
Bressington said: "I am delighted to be back at the club where I started my career.
"I am looking forward to helping Painswick play open and attractive rugby in their 140th year."
Pre-season training starts on Tuesday, July 3 from 7pm at Broadham Fields, Painswick, and every Thursday and Tuesday evenings thereafter.
Bressington would like to welcome all old and new players to attend.
If anyone is interested in joining the club then go along on a Tuesday or Thursday or contact Martin Hayward on 07792911292 for more information.
