British Transport Police appeal after stolen luggage incident at Cheltenham Spa Station

BRITISH Transport Police are appealing for the public's help to identify a man they want to speak to in connection with the theft of a passenger's luggage on a train. 

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they believe will have information which can assist their investigation into an incident which took place on Friday January 11 at Cheltenham Spa station.

Investigating officer, PC Frank Hedley, said: "The victim, who was travelling on the 1712hrs service from Birmingham New Street to Bristol Temple Meads, placed her large, navy-coloured suitcase in the luggage area in the vestibule of the carriage.

"When she checked it at Cheltenham Spa, she realised her case, which contained clothing, toiletries and a laptop computer, was missing.

"Enquiries are ongoing to find the person responsible.

"After reviewing CCTV images, I would now like to identify and speak to the man in this photograph as I believe he will have key information which can assist the investigation. The man got off the train at Cheltenham Spa station."
