Senior Amateur County Cup

Semi-Finals

Sharpness 1

Broadwell 0

BROADWELL took plenty of support to Sharpness, but were beaten by the better side on the day.

The game was marred by an injury to Sharpness's Craig Freeman, who broke his leg.

Broadwell keeper Lee Harris used his first-aid skills to help Craig until an ambulance arrived.

Broadwell were guilty of playing too many long balls, a tactic that seldom troubled the home defence.

Price and Weyman never got the service they craved, spending too much time challenging for high balls instead of collecting passes to feet.

A four man passing move down the right finished with Thomas running 30-yards to head a cross past Harris.

Foxwell and Marley were introduced from the subs' bench, but also struggled to get passes to their feet.

With minutes remaining, Marley found the unmarked Foxwell in the box, but the striker tried to chip the keeper instead of hitting his shot low.
