Burke launches appeal over ban
FORMER Gloucestershire trainer Kahlil Burke will fight a three-year ban.
He has lodged an appeal with the British Horseracing Board over the decision to disqualify him from training, which is due to end in November 2012.
No date has yet been set for the hearing.
A disciplinary panel found a series of irregularities in the medical records of some of Burke's horses between 2005 and 2008.
Burke was based at Bourton Hill Farm in Bourton-on-the-Water between 2004 and last year.
His best horses included Sarahs Quay, who won a Listed race at Newbury, and Grade Two-winning hurdler Lemon Silk.
Burke moved to a new stable in Wales in the summer of last year, describing it at the time as a "fantastic opportunity" but his temporary licence expired in June.

“He should never have been called a trainer in the first place. He couldnt train a frog to jump!!! People like this are best kept out of racing all together.”

“too true. The whole investigation reads like a witch hunt. Yeah he broke the rules in signing the passports but he never hid this fact despite all the dodgy reports in the papers about falsifying records - that parts a total lie and just seems to be put about to cause him more trouble. The people concerned know what they have done - conscience? - I dont think so. Lets hope they like all the bad publicity when the truth finally comes out - trying to conduct personal vendettas through a regulatory body - you will eventually get caught, but like outsider says, too much damage probably already done to mr burke”
