Burner fund boosted
A FIGHTING fund against the controversial incinerator at Javelin Park has been given a £2,000 boost by Stroud Town Council.
They were responding to a request by campaign group GlosVAIN which is gearing up to fight the proposed incinerator at a Government planning inquiry in November.
Ubaser Balfour Beatty is appealing against Gloucestershire County Council's refusal to grant it planning permission for the incinerator. GlosVAIN says its legal costs could be up to £80,000.
"I think we should contribute because GlosVAIN were so good at fighting this application," said town councillor John Marjoram.
