BUSY butchers have celebrated success in the aftermath of the horsemeat scandal.
Family firms White and Miller, of Coleford, and Cam Family Butchers, near Dursley, were both crowned champions at the Three Counties Showground.

Each proved to the judges at the BPEX – Butchers Roadshow and Pork Produce Excellence Awards – that they had made the very best bacon, sausages, black pudding or pork pies.
At Cam, butcher Mark Carr said business had recently "gone crazy" as customers' distrust of supermarkets turned them instead to smaller private retailers.

Dan Collier at Nick Brown Butchers, in Longlevens, said his minced beef trade was 20 to 30 per cent up since giant chains' mince was found to contain traces of horse meat.
"All our mince has the traceability marks," he said.
