CAB is praised as new bureau opens
GRATEFUL cancer patient Diana Rose has praised the CAB for its help to her during her illness.
She expressed her thanks for the charity's support as the Stroud and District Citizens Advice Bureau launched its new drop-in centre in Nailsworth.
Mrs Rose, pictured, herself from Nailsworth, said the CAB helped her claim sickness and disability benefits because during her treatment for breast cancer she had to stop working.
She said; "I couldn't have faced completing those claim forms while feeling so ill and so confused. I was feeling so overwhelmed by my diagnosis and treatment and as I've never claimed benefits before I didn't know what to do or have the energy to do it."

The CAB advisers Mrs Rose saw in Stroud were so helpful, she said. "They treated me with great understanding and respect and spent hours helping me. I am so pleased there will be a service in Nailsworth," she said.
The charity will begin its drop in service on Tuesday afternoons at the Arkell Centre in Nailsworth on October 2. It will be open from 1-3.30pm and bureau manager Nick Lee said: "We're delighted the Town Council are funding the pilot service."
