CCTV released after Gloucester cash machine scam attempts
Bank users are being warned to be on the lookout for suspect devices on cashpoints after three devices were attached to machines in Gloucester in the last few days.
Branches of Barclays in Glenville Parade in Hucclecote and Bristol Road in Gloucester were hit.
In each case a twelve inch metal strip coated with a sticky substance was placed over the cash dispenser, resulting in some bank notes not fully ejecting.
Fortunately in these cases the machines swallowed the stuck bank notes and the offenders were not able to collect their ill-gotten gains.

Officers are now asking anyone who recognises a number of suspects captured on CCTV to come forward.
One of the offenders is described as having a Mohican style haircut with dyed blonde hair in the middle. Another is described as Asian and around 6ft tall. The man seen with him is considerably shorter.
They are believed to have used a black Toyota sports car with a spoiler which is also pictured on CCTV.
Anyone who has any information that could help police should call 101, quoting incident 387 of June 27.
PC Andy Plant said: “Be extra vigilant if you can. These devices aren’t very sophisticated. Before you make a transaction have a little feel around the cash dispenser and just check everything is in order.
“If you recognise the men in the CCTV images call us immediately on 101.”
Alternatively, you can also give information anonymously on 0800 555 111

“If that picture of the car is the best CCTV can do, then we really have a problem.
I really have never understood the lack of security at ATM's.
There should be an 'exclusion' zone painted around the machine, so that others respect your space etc.
Also, some sort of recognition code even to get anywhere near the gubbins of the thing, you know, like a security screen.
As well, a close up camera, with an overhead screen, so that the actions of the people at the till can be seen......and recorded, obviously.
These oiks just sticking some scrap metal over the hole are real smart @R$£$, yes?.....bit like the ones on the inside at the top.”

“no chrischelt, Your right on it being a Honda, but I believe it to be an Integra. The Police have probably identified it as a Toyota as the rear spoiler looks celica like, possibly an aftermarket bodykit. Too much time on my hands ??????? would guess at it being a mid nighties number plate between K-R?”

“I would have thought that the blonde Mohican hairstyle would have been a good clue, the pictures don't seem to show him though. The first two pictures of the one guy look like he's ginger and that jacket and shoes! Anyone know who wears a jacket with white patches on the elbows and collar to match his white shoes - smart eh!”
