SEA cadets from the Forest of Dean were treated to a bird's eye view of the Olympic sailing finals on a trip to Weymouth.

They were invited on board HMS Bulwark, moored up near the sailing centre at Weymouth and Portland to provide security for the venue.

The group were part of more than 650 sea cadets from all over the country who were offered the chance to see Team GB sailor Ben Ainslie and the rest of the sailing team on their quest for medals.

Commanding Officer Mike Chard said: "We were thrilled to have this opportunity, it was amazing to not only be in Weymouth at this time but to see a working Royal Navy ship as well is an experience many of our cadets will cherish."
